Dress Donations

Dress donations can be dropped off at 82 Rogers Rd.  We have 2 bins outside that are under video surveillance and can be accessed 24x7 for your convenience.

If you would like to hand off to a human, we'd love to thank you in person and you can make an appointment here: https://booking.appointy.com/bridespro?sr=1027518

Donations must be 3 years old or less – purchased in 2020 or later.  Please see below for dresses that are 4+ years old.  We do not accept bridesmaid or mother of the bride dresses.  Please leave any preservation boxes at home, and just bring the dress!

If dropping in our outside bins, please download and print or send the Gown donation form at the bottom of this page.  We welcome pictures to share on our social media, and those can be emailed to info@thebridesproject.com.  Please let us know who to credit for the great photography!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment to drop off a donation?

Yes if you'd like to make sure one of us is here to greet you. Please make your appointment here:

NO if you are comfortable leaving it in the donation bin in front of the store anytime (it is under video surveillance!)

In either case, please leave the gown preservation box at home.

Does my dress need to be cleaned first?

No, Although Helen is personally delighted if they are since she cleans them all by hand

Do you accept bridesmaid/mother of the bride dresses?

No, we don’t have space unfortunately.

What if I’m not in Toronto?

Don’t worry!  There are 2 options: You can mail it in or check the list of drop-off locations below.

Mail: We regularly receive dresses from all over Canada and it typically costs only $20-30 in prepaid boxes  TIP: Turn the dress inside out and roll it like a sleeping bag. Then pop it into the smallest box it will fit into.   Please either print or email the gown donation form at the bottom of this page, and if you like, you can include your note on a nice card for us to attach to the dress.

Please mail to The Brides’ Project, 82 Rogers Rd, York ON M6E 1P3

What if my dress is 4 years old or more?

We only accept dresses bought in 2020 or later.  Please do not drop off dresses that are older… it costs us money to store them, and often dresses that have been left dirty for longer periods do not come clean or find homes.  Try local community groups or other organizations like the Salvation Army, Value Village, Gina's Closet etc if you wish to rehome an older gown.

Do you issue tax receipts?

No. We do not issue tax receipts. We do not fall under CRA guidelines for issuing tax receipts.

Salon/corporate donors will receive a statement of the value of the goods at the time of donation for their accountant to write off.

Do you buy or consign dresses? Can I trade my dress in?

No. We only accept donations, no consignment or trades.

Can I donate non-dress items?

Absolutely!

We will accept good condition jewelry and accessories

We cannot accept worn shoes at this time but unworn shoes are great.

We will accept veils that are in good condition (no major holes or other damage)

We prefer not to accept decor items, or non-apparel items as we don't have space to store them. And no crinolines please!

Local Donation Drop-Off Spots

Since there are costs incurred to ship dresses from these locations, we can only accept dresses that are 3 years old or less and in excellent condition.  If older, or there is damage to the dress, you’re welcome to send us a photo and we can let you know if we feel we can find a home for it.   Drop-off only, no pick-ups.

Please print and submit the Gown Donation form at the bottom of this page with your dress and/or include it in a special card for the next bride.

Love what we do but don’t need a wedding dress or have one to donate?
